First Milk Bank Opened in Lithuania

They have 10 beds NICU and 80 beds Unit of Neonatal diseases. About 120 – 130 babies < 1500g are treated annually. 60-70 of them are <1000g.

They strictly follow Swedish guidelines. One doctor neonatologist Vilma Ivanauskiene and two nurses – Gerda Satiene and Rima Vazgiene will work part – time in the bank. Director of this bank is Head of the Department of Neonatology prof. Rasa Tameliene.
