The first milk bank in Latvia was opened in March 2022 with considerable donations from the Latvian people. It is affiliated to the only tertiary NICU in Latvia – Children’s Clinical University Hospital in the capital Riga. The bank works according to local hospital guidelines and may provide donated milk in or outside of the NICU – for our two step-down units.
