The milkbank at Hvidovre Hospital has a nationwide operation with a turnover of 5,000 liters. a year. Women who express at least 200 ml of milk a day, can provide milk for the milkbank.
Starting the milk supply must be made within the first 8 weeks after birth. Only milk from women who do not smoke or take any medicine is allowed. After the preliminary examination (blood test and interview) of the women who want to provide their breast milk it is collected from their home
